The R Groves saw done

Well, I managed to find an hour for the Groves saw restoration and it is now transformed into a lovely user. Here you can see the two I own here in the UK. The smaller is the new old one, 12″ long and now  very lovely to use.

Also, I think this is the best saw vise for me because I like to sit down at my work sharpening.

Drill a small 1/4″ hole to stop splitting and saw down the saw with a handsaws to the hole. Slide the saw in and clamp in the vise. Quick, simple and effective.

Midway through the day I had coffee in the Blue-sky café with my son Joseph who makes all of this site work so efficiently. On the way back to my Penrhyn Castle workshop I stopped off at the Port Penrhyn as I often do to see if there is any boat work going on, but it was too cold today. Here is a non-woodworking picture you might like.
