Paul Sellers’ Workbench Build Video (part 2) – preparing and planing the laminated top

NOTE:Just so you know, this is an older workbench series. Paul has a newer Workbench series. If you are interested in the updated version of Paul’s workbench please click the button down below. This page links to a cutting list, tools list, FAQS and much more.

Here is the next installation of the videos, part 2. The videos are not very well synchronised with the rest of this tutorial as the videos take some time to edit.

I hope that this video will show some techniques that you cannot capture with still photography. Hopefully when I am done with this current project we will be able to put it all together in a more organised way.

  1. Naw! Same with coping saws. Everyone loads the blade on the pull but you cannot cope to a pencil ling or a mitred profile on the pull, that’s for fret saws where you pull the blade through from below and look at direction from above. Coping saws and fret saws are two very different animals altogether. I do think it’s up to us to continue adapting what we have and experimenting, then eventually we will get this thing called working wood.
