New woodworkers emerging—day 2 completed
This is the end of day two of our Foundation Course part 1. It was really a great day for everyone and we have a dovetailed box on each bench waiting for the bottoms to be glued on.
Every so often I will get a phone call from someone wanting to book a class where they want to come with their father or their son or daughter or something like that.
These are always remarkable times for parents with adult children and adult children with parents to spend real quality time together and I wish others would take time out to do some such thing together like this. There’s a certain humility about it if you will. A sort of honour and respect combined with innocence about it really. I think that these are memories being born so here is a memory from today’s father and son class being born…
… and a couple from times past too.
I really like this one. On this occasion the son held the chisel for his dad every time his dad had to hit the chisel. For three days he did this. Wow!
Some sons and dads can simply share the creative workspace together, like my friends Matt and David Barlow here.
And then there’s me and Joseph too. Always fun to be together in the workshop and never miss a chance to do this together if we can
