Making the workbench #5 video up

NOTE:Just so you know, this is an older workbench series. Paul has a newer Workbench series. If you are interested in the updated version of Paul’s workbench please click the button down below. This page links to a cutting list, tools list, FAQS and much more.

I apologise for the delay in video #5 being launched but here it is. The follow up videos will soon complete the series and so you to can complete your workbench. We have plans for videoing retrofits with drawer and storage cupboard and extra shelving for plane stowing like the one I have at the Penrhyn Castle workshop too.

I enjoyed writing and videoing this series and judging by your emails you did too. Remember that this bench prefaces our long term goals to bring you an apprenticing course in traditional hand tool woodworking and this coming winter season when you are deep in the basements of your homes making stuff we will be providing more and more ways for you to work with wood efficiently and effectively to get top-notch results from you tools (not machines).

If you have serious questions we will always answer them here or wherever you write us from. Always remember the dumbest question is the one that is never asked and the hardest question to answer is the one that’s never asked. We all have them. Your questions help me to answer the questions dozens of others might have and so please keep making the effort to ask them.

You can click on the blog series for making the workbench which starts here and then follow on as you build. The video series on YouTube start here and these will help you see the various techniques that cannot be described in the written word so easily. Enjoy!

  1. Hey Paul,

Thank you for posting the video. I have one more leg to prepare and then back to chopping mortises. I am excited to see you build drawers, a storage cupboard and shelving for the workbench. That will really complete the piece. Thanks again.
