Sharpening a moulding plane video

You asked me for this many times so here it is, With hundreds of profiles to develop moulds, moulding planes often need custom fettling. These are the methods I have found most effective and it takes no specialised equipment as you make you own profiles and use just about any abrasive from wet and dry papers to diamond hones. Not much more to say as the video says it all. Here is the link.

  1. Thank you for producing this video, it is very timely for me as I was about to send you an email about this very subject.

A couple of years ago a woman’s husband had passed away and she was selling all his workshop tools. And he had a large collection of wooden planes (80) and I bought them all. But until now have not really had any idea how to sharpen most of them.

I have molding planes, smoothing planes (which I know how to sharpen), hollows and rounds, and some specialty planes.

Thanks again for all you do for us.

    Best regards,

    Terry
