Workbench Videos 2 & 3 Are Up

The ultimate workbench is most likely the one you first make for yourself.

Yes, if you want to see episode two on YouTube you should go here. To see episode three now you will need to subscribe to woodworkingmasterclasses (free subscription) to see it now or wait two weeks when it will go up on YouTube.

It has been tremendous to see the response to what I consider a much-needed series for equipping woodworkers at a down to earth cost. Thank you for all of your goodwill and support.

  1. I’ve recently finished my bench, it’s a similar one as this one, but a bit wider and longer. It’s absolutely fantastic and a joy to work on ( or to just sip from my coffee and look at it 🙂 ). I was going to go the ‘machine’ way for my woodworking, but thank heavens for youtube where I found Paul Sellers ways of working… A long way to go, but it’s a road I very much enjoy… Thank you Paul!
On my bench I did install a veritas inset vise, and I am happy I did, I seem to use it as much so far as my normal vise, in particular as I play around with some thin stock a lot now that seems to get ‘bowed’ when clamping in my record vise.

  2. It was a sheer joy to read your article. You are indeed a Shakespeare among wood workers. In Pakistan where I was raised, I always envied the carpenters with their tool in a gunny sack, and produce door / windows with beautiful carving .

It was a very interesting read regarding the Indian arrow head, and leave it where it may — simply beautiful.

  3. I guess my American upbringing is showing, but I thought bigger better. I notice you specified the medium sized vise not the 11 inch one. Any reason? Also, I wonder about the very tall aprons. Maybe you could have a short video addressing how you dimension your table.
