I have enjoyed doing them through the past months and will keep going because it is more my way of life and I also want the next few years to embrace what I am doing in building furniture for every room of the house. I have very much enjoyed your vlogs, Paul. I am 38, a relatively new parent (2 boys – 2 years and 1.5 months), an aspiring DIYer, leather craftsman, and woodworker. I know that I can never acquire the hand tool skill that you enjoy from more than 55 years of learning and building, but I am certainly inspired by your devotion to the craft but I also identify with your love of nature and balance in all things. In all the hectic demands on my life in this moment it is truly beautiful to see you take notice of the natural world around you. You help me strive to find peace without knowing me from the other thousands of people who follow your work. That is true generosity and magnanimity.

I have always enjoyed your videos immensely especially restoring old tools.
I have asked this a year or two of years ago and I’m not sure if my request ever reached you or not (I was told it’s be NOTED. can you please do few videos in Drawknives please ? They are a great tools and sadly not many people even know what they are .

It’s not likely that I will make a video on draw knife use as so few people use them and mostly they are used in green or rustic woodworking and really a more limited or specialised aspect of woodwork. It is most unlikely the tool can be used beyond this. Sorry to disappoint here but realistically most people can learn to master the draw knife if and when they have used and mastered other woodworking tools because mostly it is about reading/working with the grain and working to its best advantage – more a question of experiential learning.
