My bench was built with pine lumber. The top is laminated 1×4’s, the trestles are 2×4’s, and the sides are 2×12’s. I built this bench 2 1/2 years ago after watching Paul’s first workbench series. Note the lack of a vise. I have gotten very good at using holdfasts on the top and apron for holding and securing my work. Although, I do still plan to add a vise in the future.
