Planing foursquare stock video now on YouTube

We posted a video from our woodworkingmasterclass.com series on planing rough sawn stock foursquare using a number 4 Stanley smoothing plane and a longer 5 1/2 jack on YouTube. This video helps people to understand  the logical process in using basic bench planing methods and techniques to straighten and square rough and power-planed stock that work well for those who like to use hand tools for working wood. The process includes the methods we use for removing twist, cup and bow and the use of winding sticks that are so essential in the process. There are a couple of “tricks-of-the-trade” tips that simplify the process in there too, like using a rag-in-a-can to eliminate plane chatter caused by friction on the sole of the plane. Before the deluge of questions regarding harming the finish after using this, no, I have never known the finish to be harmed using this method.
